I did a lot of cooking this weekend and will be uploading those posts soon but it’s a lazy kind of Sunday, so this will be short and sweet. One of my absolute favorite things to do for dinner is wine and cheese.
A lot of us avoid having people over because it’s a lot of work, it’s so much easier to just go out instead. But I love having a girl’s night in or friends over, then putting out food that’s quick and everyone likes. Who doesn’t like cheese?
So next time you’re exhausted and just want to relax after work, or if you’re having people over consider a bottle of wine and a few types of cheese. You can also serve up some cured meats, olives, marinated vegetables, sliced baguette… so easy.
My personal favorite cheeses; St Agur Blue, Triple Cream Brie (both pictured above). Also Guinness Cheddar, Applewood Smoked Cheddar, Goat Cheese and English Stilton. Most cheese shops let you sample before you buy and offer great suggestions, so be adventurous and find a few that you like.
Quick note, keep different knives for each cheese and also don’t serve them straight out of the fridge. Give the cheese time to get closer to room temperature for about a half hour to an hour before serving.
